Age estimation of living persons based on DNA methylation (CpG) markers are an important new tool in forensic science. DNA methylation is a reversible epigenetic alteration that is influence by lifestyle, environmental factors, genetic ancestry, and aging. We are currently developing an age estimation model that apply on people with different genetic ancestry.This model can supplement current age estimation methods based on medical examinations and x-rays. We use several massive parallel sequencing technologies to obtain our results and validate our findings.
